Hey there! My name is Holly Cason and I am a Junior from Lexington studying Environmental and Sustainability Studies & Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences with a minor in Spanish.
Some of my hobbies are hiking, drawing, going to concerts, making coffee, and traveling! I am currently in Alpha Lambda Delta, volunteering with Campus Kitchen, and working with Future Sustainability Leaders club at UK. Future Sustainability Leaders has been such a great experience here because it has allowed me to connect with other people who care about sustainability while reusing plastic bags to crotchet mats for those experiencing housing insecurity.
One thing I love about my major is how it sparks my passion to help the environment. I have learned so much and met so many wonderful people through my major and I cannot wait to apply what I have learned and make a difference. After I graduate, I would like to pursue a career as a Chief Sustainability Officer, working with larger companies to regulate and decrease their negative environmental impacts on the world.
When I first started school, I was a little overwhelmed because I didn't know if I was going to be prepared for college or the transition into this new phase of my life, but I was wrong to worry. One of the biggest reasons why I love this university is because there are so many people willing to help you with anything! From academic advisors, professors, or even a random student, this community is extremely welcoming and always willing to lend a hand.
I'm glad to be a part of it and hope to see you around! Go cats!
